# What is Samsara?
Samsara is the home of navTokens—on-chain derivatives that multiply in value agaist their base assets with demand. Each one has a mathematically impenetrable floor price (Nirvana Assured Value, or NAV) enforced by protocol-owned reserves.
Each navToken offers structural price asymmetry against its reserve asset:
* Magnified upside potential
* Mathematically limited downside
navTokens work similarly to pure-play Digital Asset Treasury (DAT) stocks. DAT companies, like Michael Saylor’s MicroStrategy, accumulate digital assets to capture their appreciation and, ideally, outperform them. navTokens are the next evolution of this strategy, but instead of relying on a executive decisions, all key functions, including reserve aquisition, token issuance, redemptions, and market making, are automated through immutable code. navTokens are on-chain, fair, and most critiaclly, the floor price (NAV) can only rise, and the market price can never fall below it.
