# Governance Basics

[prANA](/s5-revenue-sharing/p1-prana) stakers govern every parameter for every Samsara market and the [ANA](/s3-nirvana/p4-ana-the-native-asset) market. Each market is governed individually.

Each market has its own prANA vault where users can stake their prANA to gain governance power for that market. One prANA = one vote for a single parameter of a single market.

Once per week, all protocol parameters shift incrementally by 10%, higher or lower, based on a simple majority of votes at the time of the snapshot. Parameter changes are implemented on-chain automatically (no back-door code changes). Voting does not consume prANA, and votes can be changed at any time.

The governable parameters are:

* Buy fee
* Sell fee
* Withdraw fee
* Loan Origination fee
* prANA emissions rate
* Fee split between the floor investment and prANA
